Upper Primary: Yr 5 - 6 | Room 5
In Room Five students are encouraged to actively engage with differentiated learning opportunities and use technology in interesting and creative ways to solve problems. In my class, students are encouraged to work cooperatively, develop reasoning skills and engage with learning activities that promote ‘Blooms Taxonomy’ and the ‘Thinking Skills Framework’. Here, students work together using Barry Bennett’s Cooperative Learning strategies to support participative, authentic learning practices and engage with a variety of differentiated opportunities to develop and demonstrate their understandings of the concepts prescribed in the Western Australian Curriculum. All students work in a safe, collaborative learning environment that supports the development of the ‘whole child’.
