Languages - Italian
Students from Year 4-6 currently participate in Italian language classes and in 2018 the program will include Year 3. Our school and school community recognises the value of all languages and cultures and their significance in developing young learners who are global citizens.
This specialist area also provides our students with a pathway to Italian language and culture which influences many areas of contemporary Australian society including arts, design, fashion, cuisine, tourism and trade.
Italian is a phonetic language and easily pronounced. Young students are ideal learners as they are risk takers who enjoy experimenting through language games, songs, rhymes and repetition.
Learning another language can enhance literacy in English.
